The Three Peaks of Yorkshire
This 25 mile circular walk takes in the Yorkshire Dales peaks of Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, climbing some 5,000 feet using a mixture of footpaths, bridleways and tarmac road surfaces. This also includes the traverse of a very boggy moss after Pen-Y-Ghent, with wet feet guaranteed. The route uses various sections of the long distance Pennine Way footpath. The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is ideal for newcomers to walking challenges, or those in training for a National Three Peaks event.
This event starts & finishes at Horton-In-Ribblesdale, Yorkshire, near Settle. Each team entered must consist of 4 walkers. Teams may reduce in size to a minimum of 2 walkers on the day. Any individual walkers may only continue on the challenge if joining up with another (willing) team.

"Just want to say what a great day we had on Saturday. We was all impressed with the support and organisation and the BBQ was a welcome suprise. Cant wait to see the official times. Best of luck for all future events and I am sure you will see us again."

---------------------------------------------------
EVENT 1 - 17th April 2010:
Event completed. Technical nightmare for the organisers, as email, website, and Sport Ident timing system all failed before or during the weekend..! However, some fantastic weather greeted our 100 walkers and the moss was in very good condition with no real problems encountered. Only three team members retired, and most teams completed within 12 hours.
Special mention to Team ROKO who finished in 5:58 hours.

EVENT 2 - 15th May 2010:
Event completed. 35 teams started and completed the challenge, with great weather conditions and a very dry moss for a change. Well done to all the charity fundraising teams, especially those walking for the BEN charity - thanks.
------------------------------------------------
EVENT 3 - 19th June 2010:
Event completed. 43 teams started and 40 completed the challenge. Great weather once again, with the moss being very kind to you guys this year..! Very sad incident encountered by some teams on Whernside, where a walker doing the challenge with a different group died from a suspected heart attack.
-------------------------------------------------
EVENT 4 - 17th July 2010:
This event has been fully booked by a charity, but we did offer a differently formatted event for a small number of teams. Well done to all that completed..!.
---------------------------------------------------
EVENT 5 - 14th August 2010:
This hugely over-subscribed event saw 42 teams arrive at the start line, but very boggy conditions underfoot took it's toll on the walkers and we had 30 individuals retire during the challenge. However, the weather improved and over 130 walkers completed the circuit - well done..!
